OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a system of manual diagnosis and treatment used for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. The principle is that the well-being of a person is dependent on the body's muscles, ligaments, skeleton and connective tissue working in harmony.
Osteopathy uses the philosophy that for an individual to function well, then the underlying structures need to be working well together and therefore looks to restore balance and function where dysfunction exists.
Osteopathy is a safe and effective form of Primary Healthcare that is protected by Statue and regulated in the UK. Osteopaths are allied health professionals. All Osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) which promotes high standards of care and monitors the profession.
All osteopaths have undertaken a 4 or 5-year degree course, attained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and will have done a minimum of 1000 clinic hours before qualifying to register with GOsC.
Kelly James
Kelly qualified as an Osteopath with the British School of Osteopathy (now University College of Osteopathy), following this she completed a post-graduate certificate in specialist paediatric osteopath practice. She runs two Osteopathic clinics in the London bridge area, looking after patients and keeping them pain-free and happy.
Kelly has treated a wide range of patients, from babies to adults, and from athletes to office workers, she will get you back to health no matter what your goal may be! Gym, running, walking, gardening, picking up your children or grandchildren, alongside manual therapy she uses her 15 years experience in personal rehabilitative training, pilates and yoga, to assist the patient and provide them with the tools for self-care, which produces a better outcome than manual therapy alone.
Kelly believes that having a healthy, pain-free functioning body is essential to having a healthy mind and happy life, as alongside work she has a busy family life (husband and two daughters) and tries to practice what she preaches (sometimes!). She has found she is happiest when healthier and pain-free!
